ELOPY, ELIKAR & AMBIO – Visit to Galaxidi: Health & Nutrition from the Sea

As part of an ongoing effort to showcase the connection between nutrition and health, the Hellenic Aquaculture Producers Organization (HAPO) and AMBIO S.A. organized a visit to the facilities of Galaxidi Marine Farm on May 17, 2025. Distinguished scientists, physicians, and nutritionists from the Hellenic Heart Foundation (ELIKAR) scientific network were invited to attend.

The initiative aimed to inform and engage the scientific community on the nutritional value of farmed fish and their positive contribution to human health and well-being.

AMBIO first connected with the Hellenic Heart Foundation in 2024, accepting its invitation to participate in the  Cardio Life Style 2024_ELIKAR.  During the event, AMBIO presented the aquaculture sector and analyzed the nutritional benefits of farmed fish. This collaboration took shape at the Aquaculture Congress 2024, organized by AMBIO with the support and participation of HAPO, and was met with great interest and enthusiasm. Furthermore, AMBIO and HAPO provided their sponsorship to support the Cardio Life Style 2024 event.

The recent visit to Galaxidi is part of a broader initiative that allows participants to experience firsthand how farmed fish are produced. It also reflects AMBIO’s commitment to building synergies across sectors. The program included a tour of the company’s hatchery, on-growing farms, and packaging plant, and a dedicated presentation on the nutritional value of farmed fish.
